Rock climbing
The mass of granite supporting the glaciers of the mountain range is excellent for rock climbing. Several formations allow many routes up to 1,000 meters (3,280 feet) for expert climbers. Dozens of smaller walls favor climbing for beginners. Even though climbing season is open the whole year round, rain, between December and April, add some difficulty to the climbs.
Rafting
The Santa river runs from the south to north through the beautiful countryside of the Callejon, flowing along majestic mountain ranges while crossing towns with colorful folklore and ancient history. The Santa river is very popular for rafting due to easy access, little risk and low cost. It does not demand previous experience. The Anta-Caraz section is generally done although other sections may be included in the package.
The season goes from May through October even though between July and August the water level might be very low.
